Battersea
Jane Ellison, Battersea's Conservative Parliamentary Spokesman
Jane Ellison lives near Clapham Junction in Battersea with partner John and works for John Lewis. She was selected as Battersea's Conservative candidate by over 300 local residents in an 'Open Primary' meeting at Battersea Arts Centre in 2006. Since then Jane and our campaigning teams have set about working to overturn the wafer thin margin of 163 currently enjoyed by the sitting Labour MP.

How else does Battersea Conservative Association work for local residents?
Conservatives in Battersea pride themselves on being at the heart of the local community. We organise campaigns such as the fight to save Bolingbroke Hospital, and other events which include fundraising for local charities.
We strongly believe that people are better represented once they have actually been asked for their views. Regular surveying is carried out across Battersea in order to establish the most pressing concerns for residents. By working with local people, Conservatives keep a very close eye on the provision of services like health and policing. Where services fall below public expectation, we actively campaign to highlight the issue and frequently get problems resolved either for individuals or the community as a whole. Quality of life issues usually top the list of local concerns and Conservatives have clearly established themselves as the champions of the local environment.
