Richard Tracey's open letter to the Times regarding funding for the Freedom Pass
Dear Sir,
News of the Government’s plans to cut £30million from the London transport budget, detrimentally affecting pensioners and the disabled, and direct it to other parts of the country, forces one to conclude that there’s an election on the way. How many times have Labour scaremongered that the Conservatives were about to scrap or reduce pensioner travel concessions, leading to countless telephone calls from alarmed older people?
If true, this appalling move will have a very real impact on older and disabled Londoners who use the buses regularly.
This is a measure that should be steadfastly resisted.
Yours faithfully,
Richard Tracey JP AM
