Register for a Postal Vote

If you will be away on polling day for any reason you can still exercise your democratic right to vote.

Whether you are at work or on holiday, are physically unable or just don't have the time to get to a polling station to vote in person, you can still exercise your democratic right to vote. You may have moved house since the electoral register was drawn up and have not yet joined the register at your new address.

We encourage everyone to arrange a Postal Vote, because so many unexpected things can happen - any of which might prevent you at the last minute from going to the Polling Station on Election Day.

Postal Votes are mailed to electors just over two weeks prior to the day of the election. If you register a new application just before an election, your ballot papers will probably not reach you until one week before election day. If you will not be at your home address during that period, you should consider arranging a Proxy Vote instead.
