Northern Line

After years of poor performance on the Northern Line, Wandsworth Conservatives have launched a campaign to ensure that Transport for London listen to the views of their customers and respond to their concerns.

The Wandsworth Conservative Action Team has launched a vigorous campaign to improve the service of the Northern Line. The 5.3% increase of the travelcard price this year has not provided Northern Line users any improvement in the quality of service delivered. Wandsworth Conservatives are determined to campaign for positive changes to the Northern line.

The Northern Line is a frequently used and necessary service for many of us. The unexpected delays and closures that have become a regular part of the service are unacceptable. Passengers deserve value for money; currently the Northern Line delivers far below this. Wandsworth Conservatives want to take your concerns to Transport for London so that they understand where their customers’ priorities lie.

More recently, the Mayor of London is currently considering splitting the two Northern Line branches into separate lines in their own right. The practical effect of this change would mean that it would no longer be possible to take a tube from Tooting Broadway, Tooting Bec and Balham directly along the Charing Cross branch. Instead you would always have to change at Kennington. We want to hear your views on this issue, so that we can truly represent the views of local people.
